Staying in Adelaide

アデレードは、ウルル（エアーズ・ロック）へもつながる、オーストラリア大陸の広大さを感じる街の一つです。ある日、バスの中で、フロントガラスの窓から、真っ赤に、大きく大きく、あたかも目の前で、燃えたぎる夕日が沈んでいく姿を見ました。それは、これまで見てきた中で、とてつもなく大きな太陽で、地球の南側の雄大な動きの一端を、身を持って体験することができた出来事でした。

Adelaide is one of those cities that gives you a sense of the vastness of the Australian continent, with links to Uluru (Ayers Rock). One day, on the bus, I looked out of the windscreen window and saw the red, giant, blazing sun setting right before me. It was the biggest sun I had ever seen, and it allowed me to experience first-hand some of the majestic movements of the southern side of the earth.
